As an Autodidact photographer, the artist lives in London.
Başak Gürbüz Derman was in primary school when he learned to use his own camera. As an introverted boy, he spent most of his time looking at old black and white family photos and photographs in magazines and books. When Başak started to feel a strong urge and hunger to be a good photographer, he started shooting with an old Kodak Instamatic camera. Cube flash and films had a hypnotic effect on him.
When he graduated from The Ankara University Faculty of Law, his passion for photography started to turn into his profession.
He has been working in many areas of photography since 2006.
