Studio Pinprick is established as an interdisciplinary art and design studio by artist and interior architect Hayrettin Taşkaya and art historian and embroidery artist İsmail Dönmez in 2021 in Eskişehir. Producing together, the duo aimed to create a joint work by taking the concept and image integrity of the subject covered from the current and lived world, and resurrect craft, handcraft and traditional production models by exhibiting their practices in different fields and producing Punch technique. They evaluate the current subjects questioning the agenda such as the freedom in the children’s paintings, infinity, socio-cultural issues, gender, politics, human rights. Among current image bombardment, they reflect the problematic and questionable subjects on their productions with the Punch technique in this chaotic universe that we start to lose our human side. Also, they exhibit their productions on digital, imaginary places prepared in computer environment. With the production technique being a traditional craft work, they recycle waste and ready-made objects rather than just the canvas surface, and evaluate them in a conceptual dimension through past and future, old and new, traditional and digital arts and designs.
